Edmonton, AB — The Alberta Elite Junior Hockey League (AEJHL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Raiter as the league’s Head of Player Safety. In this position, Mr. Raiter will oversee the disciplinary committee, ensure the consistent application of league safety standards, and serve as an advocate for both player safety and mental health initiatives across the AEJHL.
Mr. Raiter was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1992 and spent the majority of his junior career with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He also played briefly in the East Coast Hockey League during the 1995–96 season. Following his playing career, Mr. Raiter has remained closely connected to the game and brings both on-ice and personal experience to this leadership role.
“I am honored to accept the role of Head of Player Safety for the Alberta Elite Junior Hockey League,” said Raiter. “I view this as an opportunity to support our athletes not only in their performance on the ice, but equally in their development off the ice. My objective is to foster a culture that prioritizes player well-being, mental health, and personal growth.”
